Cardio toxicity

Cardiotoxicity is the condition in which damage to the electric or muscular systems of the heart causes malfunction. As it ages, the heart weakens and becomes less effective at pumping blood. Cardiotoxicity can result from radiotherapy, chemotherapy (the anthracycline class is a common example), consequences from anorexia nervosa, exposure to heavy metals, chronic cocaine misuse, excessive dosages of some stimulants like cocaine, or improperly administered medications like bupivacaine.
